As stated in the Preface, this book “traces the settlement of Montague from its beginning during the Island’s colonial period, it continues through a century of growth and ends in the 1930s. The events depicted are drawn against the larger historical backdrop of the region and the province itself. Beyond this, it attempts to reveal the unique spirit, character and tradition that the forebears of today’s townspeople brought to the building of their town.”
Montague is a community located in Kings County. P.E.I. Since 2018, it has been part of the town of Three Rivers, which was formed by the amalgamation of Montague, Georgetown, and several rural municipalities. Specifically, Montague is situated approximately 46 km east of Charlottetown.
