John William Michael Bliss, OCFRSC (1941-2017) was a noted Canadian historian and award-winning author. Though his early works focused on business and political history, he subsequently authored several important medical biographies, including one of Sir William Osler. Bliss was also a frequent commentator on political events and issues. He was a member of the Order of Canada. Bliss was a longtime summer resident on Prince Edward Island.
