Hannelore Kennedy (d. 2006) was born in Hamburg, Germany, and in 1951, she came to Canada. In 1964, she and her husband, Harry, moved from Montreal to Prince Edward Island, where she began to paint seriously. Painting in acrylic, oil, and watercolor, she concentrated on Prince Edward Island scenes. Hannelore's paintings are in private collections in Canada, the United States, and Europe. One of her paintings hangs in Stornoway, which is one of the seven official residences of Canada and is located in Ottawa. Kennedy spent her final decade in British Columbia.
