Born in Charlottetown. Involved in art since childhood, Ramsay took her first art instruction at the age of 11. Later, she studied at the Notre Dame Academy, Charlottetown; High School of Art, Braintree, MA; Desborough Art Class, Summerside; Mount Allison University Workshops, Sackville, NB; Watercolor with Daphne Irving and Hugh MacKenzie at Holland College School of Visual Arts. She is a graduate of the Famous Artists Painting School. Exhibited mainly in Charlottetown and Summerside. Early in her career Ramsay worked in oil and pastel, but later turned mainly to watercolor. Best known for still life and P.E.I. landscape views. Her work has been exhibited at the "Island Images" show at Confederation Centre; Island Barns, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; Pavillion, 1976 Olympics People and Places; dual show "Mélange" at Eptek Centre (1978); Rothman's Honorarium Travelling Exhibition; "Island Women Artists" at Charlottetown and elsewhere. .
