Lincoln Godfrey Morris (1887 - 1967) was born in Newport, England. He studied architecture, and at South Kensington Art School, London. Morris came to Canada in 1909, and continued his studies with Maurice Cullen and Adam Sherriff Scott. Working in oil, watercolour and pencil, his subjects include coastal scenes with fishing boats, and landscape, especially the Laurentians. He also painted in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Morris was active in Montreal, Quebec (1922 - 1951), and exhibited with the RCA in 1922, 1938, 1944 and 1947, and with the AAM in 1943 and 1951.
